    Depart your home city for London Gatwick Airport
    overnight 0: in flight

  • Wednesday, July 2
    The coach will meet us at London, Gatwick (time & meeting point TBD). We depart for our first Jekyll garden: Manor House at Upton Grey. Ros Wallinger gives us a short tour of the garden that she restored to Jekyll's plans. Lunch is included at
    Tylney Hall with time to visit the hotel's garden, also by Jekyll; then on to our hotel in Bath
    overnight 1: MacDonald Bath Spa Hotel, Bath; Lunch.

  • Thursday, July 3
    Today we visit Hestercombe Gardens, one of Jekylll and Lutyens' finest garden collaboration. Have an independent lunch at Hestercombe, and then we will travel on to Lady Farm, for an altogether different approach to gardening. We return to our hotel in Bath in time for you to relax at our spa hotel. Dinner is on your own at the hotel or a short walk across the river in Bath.
    overnight 2: MacDonald Bath Spa Hotel; Breakfast.

  • Friday, July 4 (Independence Day, USA)
    We get an early start to see the incredible rooms of Hidcote Manor Garden (NT). Lunch is on your own at Hidcote, and then we make a short, 5 minute drive across the lane to the romantic garden of Kiftsgate Court. Although not designed by Gertrude Jekyll, these two gardens are of the Edwardian period and were highly influential when they were begun. We return to our hotel in Bath in time for you to relax. Dinner on your own at the hotel or across the river in Bath.

  • Saturday, July 5
    We depart Bath for a special spa treatment at Barnsley House including lunch at the home of the late Rosemary Verey. Her garden is still as wonderful as when she was there. Our next stop is West Green House Gardens where we will experience another type of gardening style.
    overnight 4: Ockenden Manor Hotel; Dinner on your own. Breakfast.

  • Sunday, July 6
    Vann, a private garden, is our first stop and is an outstanding example of Gertrude Jekyll's cottage style. Lunch will be independent at a local pub. Our final Jekyll garden is the renowned Munstead Wood which was Jekyll's home and designed by Edwin Lutyens. Lady Clark has invited us in for short tour of the house, and the head gardener will answer our questions.
    overnight 5: Ockenden Manor Hotel; Breakfast, Farewell Dinner included.

  • Monday, July 7
    Today we make our way to London, exploring the RHS Gardens at Wisley this morning. Independent lunch at Wisley. Be sure to visit the incredible Bookstore and Gift Shop before leaving! We check in at our London hotel and have the afternoon free before an independent dinner at any of London's great restaurants (check Zagat.com), or enjoy dinner at the exceptional restaurant at our hotel.
    overnight 6: The Goring (Small Luxury Hotel); Breakfast.

  • Tuesday, July 8
    We get an early this morning by coach for our visit to the amazing Hampton Court Flower Show on the first Member's Day. We will spend as long as we like at the show, seeing the hottest new plants and fabulous display gardens, and shopping, shopping, shopping! Lunch is on your own. You have the rest of the day free to wander,visit museums, or catch a play. Dinner is on your own.
    overnight 7: The Goring; Breakfast.

  • Wednesday, July 9
    There will be one transfer to Gatwick this morning, or you may stay on for your extension. Breakfast.
